97G Richardson Record More PLW Wins
TSCH97G Richardson enjoyed a 3-1 win over Albion Hurricanes FC in PLW action this past weekend at a very windy Edmond Soccer Club. Playing into a very strong wind in the first half, the girls produced a solid defensive performance only conceding one goal throughout the half. Despite the wind TSCH created several chances and could have been tied up at the half. The wind picked up even more at the start of the second half and TSCH pinned the Albions in their own half for most of the second period. The equalizing goal came from a headed goal from Madison Ohman after the Albion failed to clear a corner kick. Having equalized the girls went for the win. The second goal came after a great run and cross from the end line by Rachael Van Fosson, was met by Riley Graham at the near post. The Albion keeper made a great save but the rebound fell to Camrie Hurst who finished from close range.
TSCH went close on several other occasions before the last goal came via a penalty about 8 minutes from the end of the half. Again Albion struggled to clear a corner and when the ball was headed goal ward an Albion defender handled on the line denying the goal. The referee red carded the defender and awarded TSCH the penalty that was scored by Rachael Van Fosson. Other players to perform well in the game were Regan Hall in goal, Regan McQuaid, Bri Demuth, Kay Chapman ,Abbey Rutherford Riley Graham and the central defensive paining of Tiffany Jones and Hannah Arning.
The win takes the team to the top of the PLW table for the present( record of 3-2-2) but with several more games played than some of the south Texas teams.
Coach Richardson was again pleased with the overall performance and discipline of the team in very trying conditions. Sundays PLW game was postponed due to the heavy rain overnight. The next game for the TSCH 97 G is the local derby game versus the TSCH 97G Killingsworth team on Tuesday evening at 8pm at the Metro Tulsa fields.
