Tulsa Soccer Club President Barry Williams announced the appointment of Adam Burke as Executive Director of Soccer Operations.  “Adam brings strong credibility at the highest level of national youth soccer.  He has a long history and complete understanding of club soccer and programming overall.   I believe Adam’s leadership and experience, combined with the exceptional talented coaches and staff already in our club, will help ensure the continued success of Tulsa SC for years to come.  I feel that Adam will only enhance our club vision of utilizing the latest technology to help maximize player development, implement new and innovative curriculum, and help create player developmental pathways that lead well beyond youth soccer.”

Adam comes to Tulsa SC from Phoenix Rising FC, one of the largest clubs in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, where he has worked for the past 17 years.  “The decision to leave Phoenix Rising FC was a hard one, but it is truly an honor to be able to return to the place that inspired my love for the sport and build upon the life lessons, both on and off the field, impacting todays and future youth at Tulsa SC”. Phoenix Rising Executive Director Chris Brown said, “For the past seventeen years Adam has been integral in the development of our organization.  He has influenced many areas within it including the culture, the growth, the development of hundreds of players and driven elite platforms with the boys and girls programs.  Today we are proud members of and leaders within Elite Clubs National League and his efforts have contributed to the successes in that program.  We wish him the best success with Tulsa Soccer Club.”

Adam is a hometown kid and still has family here today.  He graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1995 and played club soccer for TSC under Coach Keith Eddy.  He went on to play collegiate soccer at the University of Alabama-Huntsville and graduated with a B.A. degree in Finance in 1999.  While at UAH, he was a 4-year starter, the team was a 2x Gulf South Conference Champion and qualified for the NCAA tournament once.  After graduating from college, Adam went on to play professionally for the USL, then called the A League, with the Tennessee Rhythm and Cincinnati Riverhawks.  After his professional playing career ended, he immediately began his coaching career at the University of West Florida, as the Men's and Women's Assistant Soccer Coach for 4 years.  Adam also had 2 one-year stints at his Alma-Mater UAH, as the Men’s Assistant Coach, and then at East Mississippi CC, as the Men’s Head Coach and Women’s Assistant Coach.

Adam holds a USSF A License as well as an NSCAA Premier License and has been the DOC and ECNL Director for Phoenix Rising FC/Scottsdale Blackhawks for the past 8 years.  While at Phoenix Rising FC, he was selected to be on the Coaching Staff as the Assistant Coach for the ICC Arizona boys team at the inaugural International Champions Cup (ICC), considered by many to be the most prestigious Youth Soccer Tournament in the United States.  His team made it to the Quarterfinals losing to the NY Red Bulls USSDA in the Champions Flight (Top Division).  In the 2nd year of the International Champions Cup, he was the Head Coach of the ICC West All-Star team, where his team finished in 2nd place losing to the ICC Northeast All-Star team in the finals of the Bowl Flight (3rd Division).  Adam’s accomplishments include the 2019 U17 Boys Dallas Cup Championship, numerous Arizona State Championships, a Region IV Championship, multiple National League Championships, and 3 National Championship Appearances in the Boys ECNL.  He has also led Phoenix Rising FC to 3 ECNL Southwest Conference titles and this year, 2020, had 5 out of the 6 age groups sitting at the top of the standings.

Adam will begin his duties with Tulsa SC on June 8th. “I couldn’t be more excited and grateful to work together with the caliber of coaching talent already in place, bring my experience and success in helping players maximize their development, and help the overall club grow,” said Adam. “To follow in the footsteps of people before me, after me and all those esteemed colleagues in between, who were instrumental in putting Tulsa on the map, is a privilege I am not only humbled by, but also take very seriously.  To be part of this conversation and to carry on the legacy TSC has already created, means everything to me.”

“Adam Burke has been involved with the International Champions Cup Futures tournament since its inception in 2018.  The ICC Futures is a youth tournament for U14 boys and U15 girls which brings the most talented teams in the World to the United States to play against the best in US talent.  From the top European professional academies such as Real Madrid and Barcelona to the 2019 boys champions Vasco Da Gama from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this tournament shines a spotlight on the future stars of the game. In addition to the top MLS and amateur club teams in the US we also build ICC All Star teams representing the East, West, South and Midwest of the USA.  Adam has done a top class job over the last 2 years in identifying the best talent in the West (from Washington State to Arizona and including players from Hawaii) then molding this group into a team in 2 or 3 practices that can compete with the best teams in the World. In addition to the on the field coaching Adam has excelled in the administrative and operational aspects of getting the team together and then getting everyone to Florida for a week-long tournament.  Adam has been a true professional at all times and he will hopefully be able to stay involved in this World Class event for years to come.”
