Host Application FAQ
What steps do I have to take to become a TSC Hurricane PEP host?
Fill out the online PEP Host Application
Once the application is received you will be contacted for a meeting.
After the meeting, you will be required to go through a Risk Management process.
What are the players ages?
The PEP will include players that are Middle through High School grades.
What is TSC Hurricane looking for in a host house?
Provide snacks and 3 meals per day following the
Provide accommodations for the player. Each player should have their own room with a bed (double or bigger), desk, dresser/closet and internet access.
Provide access to laundry (as determined between host and player), wireless internet and television use.
Provide a safe comfortable family environment
Treat the player as one of the family
Include the player in family activities if it is something they wish to do.
Provide each player a key to the home (and alarm codes if present)
Risk Management Process
Parents need to initiate a record check?
All new host parents are required to go through Risk Management process
How much do the record checks cost?
There is no cost of this service to the host family
Do I have to redo my Background check every year or if I already have one?
Risk Management checks must be done every seasonal/academic year.
What about medical insurance or expenses?
Families should have a family medical insurance plan and be willing to add the player to their policy for the time they are hosting
