TSC Hurricane Announced as Newest Club Member

The club will field 5 boys squads beginning in 2017....

TAMPA, Fla. – TSC Hurricane has been selected to participate in the Mid South Division as a Super Y League member starting in 2017, the league has announced.

“Having TSC Hurricane as part of the founding group represents how competitive the new Mid South Division is set to be,” Joel Nash, USL Director of Business Development, said. “They, alongside Liverpool FCA and FC Wichita are proving their leadership in the region by elevating their clubs through summer programming.”

TSC Hurricane’s focus is on developing youth players with a concentration on creating more organized, age-appropriate training sessions, while also putting an emphasis on producing an enjoyable environment.  The club will plan to field five boys squads in the new league held during the summer in the following age groups: 05, 04, 03, 02/01 and 00/99.  The Elite Training Center will serve as the primary vehicle for player idenfitication in the 05-03 age groups. The other age groups will be selected based on specially scheduled combines, recommendations and scouting.

"We are excited to be selected to represent our market in the Super Y League's new Mid South Division,” Executive Director Jim Tindell said. “This is also in line with our mission. The Super Y Model will provide expanded opportunities for selected players through the Path to the Pros experience, national scouting network and meaningful games on a national platform with other similar clubs that have a vertical development pathway to their semi-pro and pro teams."

TSC Hurricane is a partner of the United Soccer League’s Tulsa Roughnecks FC, which shares coaching resources in the development of TSC Hurricane’s players.

“We are definitely supporters of the Tulsa Roughnecks,” Boys Director of Coaching Michael Nsien said. “We have an opportunity and responsibility to show players a pathway to professional soccer. The Tulsa Roughnecks’ presence locally gives us a tangible example of the professional game for our players. TSC and the Roughnecks will continue to grow our relationship, and we would like to produce homegrown players for them in the near future.”

More details will be announced in the coming weeks.
