99 Boys Bedwell Perform Well at Pre-Academy Event in St. Louis
The 99 Bedwell Boys headed to St Louis the weekend of Oct 7-9th participating in the 'invitation only' Pre-Academy Division for U13 Boys.
The team started out on Friday vs Scott Gallagher Arsenal. A team that is part of a pilot program between Arsenal FC( of the English Premier
League) and Scott Gallagher SC. Players on this team train 6 days a week and are limited to the number of matches they can play. Taking advantage of this unique opportunity to play SG Arsenal, 99 Bedwell was able to overcome a quick goal and answer w 3 straight goals. Putting away SG Arsenal 3-2.
Saturday brought additional competition w games vs SG Metro (#1 team in Illinois)and Carmel Indiana United SC. With a fantastic start vs SG Metro, TSCH Bedwell jumped out to an early 2-0 lead. Unfortunately SG answered w 4 straight goals leading to a 4-3 final.
In the afternoon match vs Indiana, TSCH Bedwell was able to rebound with another great start, going up 2-0 again, but this time was able to finish the game and put Indiana away 4-1.
Sunday, 99 Bedwell finished strong with a dominating performance over the Chicago Fire Pre-Academy team winning 4-0.
Overall, TSCH 99 Bedwell finished the weekend w 3 wins in 4 games. Also, finishing well by averaging 3 goals a game, w 14 goals in 4 games.
Congrats to Coach Jason and the boys. Outstanding achievement against quality Pre Academy opponents.
